Well made, feels like a quality microphone, it has a nice flat sound so you get a true representation of the vocal. This is important if you are limited in tracks and need to EQ all the vocals on one track. I have had this mic for about 1 1/2 years and have never had a problem of any kind. I guess one thing to note is that like like any tube mic you should let it warn up a bit before jumping into recording with it. I think for the money it's the best bargain from MXL.

Well I am a 14 year old that composes music and i have to say that im amazed with this mic. It comes neatly packed like it should and it looks Great!!. When i started to record I was amazed how it would pick my voice up real clearly from 5 feet away and trust me my computer sometimes gets loud and I was impressed how I could barely hear the the fan through the recording and I give this mic 4 Thumbs Up!!
and for the ones with an interest on this mic I do recommend it because its good quality for the price and if you do get it remember to leave the phantom power on for around 10-15 minutes so it can get warmed up!

Just added this mic to my mix. Recorded via Mackie Onyx 1620 board with Firewire option into my Mac running Logic Express. Recorded my voice from about 6-8" away thru a pop screen. Was very impressed with the openness of the mic minus any harshness. Added some low EQ around 250Hz to give my voice a little more silk (since I wasn't born with that). Came up VERY nice. My wife says it's the most faithful reproduction of my voice she's heard yet.

Next mic'd my vintage Yamaha FG200 acoustic guitar. Placed mic around 10" inches away from the bridge after trying a couple different positions. Mic was roughly parallel to the front surface of the guitar. Again, VERY nice. The track was a definite keeper. With that placement, not boomy and just a little finger squeak. Used only the tiniest EQ in the final mix.

Well-built, smooth sounding mic. Have only had this a couple weeks but am guessing that it will be the first mic I reach for in a number of applications. Don't let the low price fool you. This is a very good quality, great sounding mic.
